Friendly staff that are willing to help you. The breakfast they offer, while small in selection, has a fabulous lady running it that is kind and witty. The front desk staff is very nice as well and even helped with directions into the city, and offered to call up a taxi for us if need be.
As with most nj and ny hotels, the bathroom was very tiny and cramped. And even though the King Sized bed was comfy, I had requested a room with two double beds for my friend and I. They upgraded without notice, which made it a bit awkward staying in the same bed with my friend.
Easy access to bus for trip to Port Authority.
The room was clean and pleasant and we thought it was a good value for the money, considering the area just outside New York City. It was also pretty soundproof. Parking was free, and in a covered lot, which was a big plus because it was raining rather heavily. We chose it, though, for its proximity to Jersey City, where we have family.
This is a converted "outside corridor" motel, and the center section, which used to be a parking lot with a row of units on each side, has been modified into the breakfast area, which is covered with a marquee. The breakfast area is attractive, but unheated, and in winter weather, it would be impossible to actually sit out there and have breakfast. The breakfast was okay, but was all carbs -- muffins, cereal, bagels, waffle maker, etc. The woman tending the breakfast area, though, was a plus. She was very friendly and conscientious.
Its location to nearby nyc
The room was very nice. Big firm bed. Good size flat screen tv on the wall. Shower was awesome. I would like info on it so I can put that in my house.
The outside looked run down. I did Find you can't judge a book by it's cover. I would have liked if breakfast went til 10:00.
Very good location, close to the Manhattan - approx. 15min by bus 161 that stops just accross the street in front of gas station and cost 4,25$/person - one way. The room was clean and every morning very well maintained. Breakfast was delicious - especially waffles! The room was equiped with big size LCD TV, refridgerator. microwave oven, staff was friendly and helpful. We had a really nice time there.
Very nice staff, always makes you feel right at home. Nice big rooms, free WiFi. I would stay there again. Nice location when attenting shows/games in MetLife stadium, or Izod Arena
A little "in the middle of nowhere" but does have a bus-stop near the hotel, which runs to nyc
Recording said "walking distance to the meadowlands." Technically it is true, but when I got there I found out that people are prohibited from walking there and they would get a summons by the police. Also we were charged for using a safe, which we did not use. Breakfast area was cold.
Great location, bus to nyc just across the street, free parking, breakfast included and not too bad, quite good quality-price relation.
Staff not friendly at all, the wifi is really slow and the extra bed is a nightmare, we ended up throwing the mattress on the floor. Also, the heating is so loud that makes sleeping impossible when turned on, when off the room is freezing, I advise earplugs.
Cleanliness and size of the room, excellent value for money, proximity to New York by bus (about 25 minutes using the New Jersey Transit line 161). Ideal for backpackers and when doing a city trip whilst not overspending money in too expensive Central Manhattan hotels
Breakfast is just minimal and awful
This was one of the worst experiences ever. The hotel was dirty the back steps from the parking disgusting and not maintained. The door to the room didn't shut well. The carpets were dirty. This hotel was over $100 per night in new jersey and should have been a good experience. It was like some ghetto hotel We arrived at 4 in the afternoon but had to be in nyc at 6 and so there was no time to change and move. I travel all over the world and this ranks as one of the worst hotels motels I have ever stayed at.
If you have an event near the Izod Center or Meadowlands Sports Complex, this is within walking distance, if you don't mind a little walk. Saves you the $20 parking fee.
Not very close to any other attractions within walking distance. There are a few fast food places you could walk to.Had this pretty bad fishy smell when walking near by, but really didn't smell it in the Lodge.
I travel for work a lot, and my standards are not too high and pretty tolerating. However, I liked nothing about this dump. Well, actually, the only thing I really liked was learning that I will never ever ever stay here again.
I'll start with breakfast and it was really disgusting. Coffee cups were basically Dixie cups (think dentist spit cups). Powdered creamer. Stale bagels. Rooms were clean enough per se, but ratty looking and dilapidated. Cold draft coming in through door. Open air courtyard where some people gather at night and even the slightest sound echoes loudly throughout area. Smokers smoke outside the rooms and because there is a breeze coming through door, you get to smell the smoke in your room! No elevators so climbing 3 flights of stairs to top floors. Phone in room was broken. Half the lights were unplugged when I arrived in the room. Front desk clerk complaining about work, tiredness life, etc.Not what a traveler wants to hear upon check in. Showerhead was basically hanging out of the wall and could not be adjusted without fear of yanking the whole pipe out. Toilet was ok, but you have as much room as you would in a phone booth. Seedy people in and around the area.
Is right next to mets stadium
Free breakfast, comfortable bed
The poles every 7 feet in the parking garage makes it a little hard to park with a mid sized vehicle
